Old Jail in Bishop

Teri Quan Grossman
Bishop is a small town in Oconee County. In 2016 the population was 251.
The brick structure contains only relics of a bygone era when the town of Bishop detained its criminals in a two-cell jail.
“It’s always unlocked,” said Bishop Clerk Lacy Armstrong. “If people want to come by, we leave it open. There’s an old desk and one of the jail bed frames. The town’s intent was to preserve it the way it was"
